Solid state ionics
Gelest, Inc. offers a selection of germanium compounds, chlorosilane compounds, ethoxysilane compounds, and barium stannate for use in solid state ionic applications in addition silicone based membrane (electrolyte) precursors are available. Solid state ionics in fuel cells consists of the transfer of a positive ion through an anode/ catalyst, across an electrolyte (ion conductor), and through the cathode or the reverse transfer of a negative ion through the cathode, across an electrolyte, and through the anode.
